Mexico City, MX – September 21, 2022 – Snowflake, the Data Cloud company, today announced that it has officially launched in Mexico as the company focuses on expanding its customer base in Mexico and Latin America.
Customers throughout the country and Latin America are increasingly turning to Snowflake's platform that powers the Data Cloud — the global network where Snowflake customers, partners, and data providers can break down data silos and derive value from rapidly growing data sets in secure, governed, and compliant ways. Snowflake’s platform enables the Data Cloud: the near-unlimited scale and efficiency of a multi-cluster shared data architecture; the seamless interoperability of working with data across multiple public clouds as if they were one; baked-in security features that can’t be turned off; and modern data sharing, which allows virtually any number of organizations to share and receive live data with each other near- instantly and without having to move or copy data.
Under the leadership of Sergio Sanchez Polo, Country Manager for Mexico and LATAM Sales Lead, Snowflake has opened up operations in Mexico and plans to hire across Latin America to focus on sales.
“With Mexico and the LATAM region continuing to accelerate their adoption of cloud technologies, there is a huge need to unlock the value of the data they are generating to make data-driven decisions that will fuel the growth of their companies,” said Sanchez Polo. “Snowflake’s Data Cloud will help local companies advance their existing missions to become more data-driven by breaking down data silos and enabling collaboration across internal teams and external partners.”
“Snowflake offers a minimalist and ultra-efficient data architecture concept that allows our clients to eliminate their silos, democratize their data with security and create high-impact business applications. We are sure that the opening of Snowflake operations in Mexico is a solid statement of commitment and confidence in the Latin American market with specialized technical and commercial talent for current and future clients”, said Antonio Figueroa, CEO de Raken Data Group and Partner de Snowflake.
Leading companies in Mexico, including DEACERO, REWORTH, and the Department of Innovation at Tecmilenio University, have already turned to Snowflake as the platform for their data needs.
CEMEX, a global leader in the building materials industry, is leveraging the Data Cloud to provide accessibility and Data Management Capabilities to more than 25 internal areas.
“Snowflake has allowed us to make available the data in a safe and governed manner with the flexibility and elasticity of cloud features,” said Carlos Augusto Mantilla Espinosa, Director of IT Enterprise and Data Architecture. "Nowadays, CEMEX has two schemes to leverage data assets - near real-time and batch analysis for massive historical analysis. Snowflake’s Data Cloud is part of very strong foundation that has been helping us to make better informed business"
With operations in Mexico, Snowflake now has offices and operations across 23 countries.
