Snowflake and Alteryx Deliver High-Performance Analytics Ecosystem
Nov 21, 2017
By combining best-in-class cloud data warehousing and self-service analytics, enterprise customers leverage data to catapult their businesses forward.
SAN MATEO, Calif. – [Nov 21, 2017] – Snowflake Computing, the only data warehouse built for the cloud, and Alteryx, Inc. (NYSE: AYX), a leading provider of an end-to-end analytics platform for the enterprise, today announced significant enterprise customer traction for the Alteryx in-database (in-DB) connector for Snowflake. Together, Alteryx and Snowflake provide a single, scalable, performance-based solution that delivers consistent business analytics and insights across any organization.
Given the growth in demand for data, difficulties often arise when creating repeatable and easy-to-use analytics workflows from a single source of truth. Legacy technologies are unable to solve this problem. In fact, many organizations exacerbate this by creating a proliferation of data marts and extracts.
To overcome this challenge, many customers already capitalize on the Alteryx-Snowflake, high-performance analytics ecosystem. For example, the business intelligence (BI) team for IAC Publishing, owner of Ask Media Group, provides centralized analytics across several of the company’s web-based publishing businesses. The team manages more than 300 million events and nearly 100 million keywords and marketing terms for bidding and monetization, and imports more than 1.5 terabytes of raw data daily.
“We evaluated a number of solutions and chose Snowflake and Alteryx,” Ask Media Group’s Head of Business Intelligence, Erika Bakse said. “Alteryx was the fastest and easiest way to implement complicated analytic workflows we desperately needed. When combined with Snowflake’s performance, scalability and simplicity, we quickly get users all the information they need to handle a multibillion keyword portfolio.”
Together, Snowflake and Alteryx deliver scalable performance for advanced analytics. With the new Alteryx in-DB connector for Snowflake, enterprises can leverage performance and concurrency by running advanced, predictive and spatial analytics to analyze large sets of data quickly from within a Snowflake environment. An Alteryx in-DB connector can eliminate the need to transfer large Snowflake datasets into and out of Alteryx for analysis. Alteryx also makes running advanced analytics a fast and easy process with its drag-and-drop interface.
Snowflake Vice President of Alliances Walter Aldana said, “The in-database processing capabilities Alteryx provides dramatically improve data blending and advanced analytics performance. Their technology empowers users of a variety of skill levels across an organization, which complements our mission of providing access to data in one efficient and reliable place.”
Alteryx Vice President of Product Management, Ashley Kramer said, “Snowflake provides an excellent built-for-the-cloud solution to perform predictive analytics. With its Instant Elasticity and its ability to bring multiple, disparate data sources into a single location, Snowflake easily powers analytics applications with data-driven insights.”
