Hi. My name is Arvin Jagannathan. Everyone just calls me Jag. I am CDO of our single family division at Freddie Mac and support the firm's overall offensive data strategy.
Freddie Mac's mission is, “We make home possible.” What that means to me is, again, supporting our customers to help the borrower, whether it's renting a property, owning a property, first time, refinancing, etcetera, which is most probably one of the most major decisions that any person's gonna be dealing with. Looking at in terms of our statistics, if we're managing thirteen and a half million loans, there's eighty data elements in every loan. All that data is flowing through our ecosystem, is flowing through the platform.
So the better we can unlock the power of that data, you're enabling and meeting our mission.
And this is where Snowflake comes into bear because Snowflake is the platform in terms of where all this data is designing in our new modern ecosystem that you could start unlocking.
If you think about building a house, that's your foundation.
Without governance, without managing all the information risk, you can't talk about anything else. Similarly, if I think about Snowflake as being our platform, that's the foundation. You can't get into advanced analytics. We can't talk about gen AI or anything else unless the foundation is strong. So governance, quality, all this stuff and managing information risk for privacy, etcetera, is critical as a clear block to build upon. And that's really where I'm leading for a firm, a more offensive data strategy approach of how can I maximize our advanced analytics?
That analytics is really unlocking value across our business. And then how do you make better decisions quicker? Maybe you're producing a report to support our lenders. And our legacy environment was getting produced at three o'clock.
Now that's getting produced at eight o'clock in the morning. So you're able to make better data driven decisions quicker and meet our mission at the same time. So if I think about cost optimization and as a business leader, you have to be efficient. Snowflake is within our platform.
We're able to know exactly what this job is running, what this job is taking. I then, as a CDO, can manage the business much more effectively. Well, before, you really didn't know. You were thinking you did, but you may not have had that true insight.
And that's the luxury now as a business owner that I'm actually having to bear those costs. I'm responsible for all the data infrastructure. So it helps me manage more effectively, and then I'm able to go back to management with ideas and solutions effectively as well. What our strategy really has evolved to is really empowering the business, unlocking the business value through our data.
So we're basically at a point where people aren't questioning the strategy. What is it? People aren't questioning how I'm getting there. Now they've seen the value.
They're asking when. They're asking more.
